I found out recently that a friend of mine doesn’t like M*A*S*H.

That friend is wrong about life.

I’m horrified and confused when people tell me they don’t like this show.

SPOILER ALERT: NONE OF THE ABOVE IS ACTUALLY TRUE.

Seriously, that is the craziest thing I’ve ever read. Although it is certainly better than a lot of other jobs, I’ll grant you that.

This is insane. And is part of why it’s incredibly difficult to explain to people why one would leave academia. While those at the top of the pyramid are pretty well-situated, essays like this completely ignore how hard it is to get tenure, let alone the existence of adjuncts.
